The Building Codes Save (BCS) Fire Hazards Pilot Study evaluates the financial and life safety savings resulting from modern building codes in California and Colorado, focusing on structure fire and wildfire hazards. The study demonstrates considerable savings due to modern codes in both residential structures and properties over their useful life. Comparisons were made between pre-modern and post-modern codes, using years like 2000 and 2008 for structure fire and 2014 for wildfire as baseline years for the analysis.
