DSS-WISE Lite is a web-based, automated two-dimensional dam-break flood modeling and mapping tool developed by the National Center for Computational Hydroscience and Engineering with FEMA support. It enables rapid setup and execution of dam-break simulations, producing GIS-compatible inundation maps for hazard classification, emergency action plan (EAP) preparation, and emergency response. The tool is accessible to FEMA, federal, and state dam safety officials, and is designed for both preparedness and real-time emergency use. DSS-WISE Lite has been used in major dam safety incidents and supports hazard ranking, prioritization, and downstream consequence analysis.
