Final Environmental Assessment including FONSI signed 8/26/2024 for Marlette Lake Dam Resilient Infrastructure Project, PDMC-PJ-09-NV-2018-001, August 2024

This Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) evaluates the proposed stabilization and seismic retrofit of Marlette Lake Dam in Washoe County, Nevada, under FEMA’s Pre-Disaster Mitigation Competitive Grant Program. The project includes enlarging the downstream embankment, replacing corroded outlet works, raising the dam crest to address freeboard deficiencies, and replacing the undersized spillway with a covered concrete box culvert. The assessment analyzes environmental impacts, alternatives, and mitigation measures, with a focus on reducing seismic hazards and improving dam safety to protect downstream water supply and infrastructure. Public involvement was conducted, and the EA concludes that the project will not have significant adverse environmental impacts.
